The Beach (La Playa):
The ocean, which can be seen from the True Nature
Community, is a four hour hike from where you awake
in the morning. The southern pacific region of Costa
Rican has some of the most prestine beaches in the
country. From the land at True Nature you can hike to
the beach in under 4 hours. The beautiful hike winds
through the ridge tops of our village, through the
monkey filled jungle, and down to the ocean. Visit
beautiful beaches, go surfing, or have the
opportunity to spend the night at a small prestine
Costa Rican beach resort.
Yoga:
There will be a certified yoga instructor at True
Nature during all programs and during the high
season. Most days, yoga will be offered as part of
programs.
You will also have the opportunity to schedule
private lessons for yoga if you are interested in
getting a deeper and more personal understanding of
this ancient practice. (Additional Fee for Private
Instruction)
Horsebackriding: Horseback riding
trips are available while at True Nature. Come take a
ride through the villages, the local forest preserve,
and to the San Luis waterfall. No experience is
necessary.
Spanish Lessons: We have a local
Spanish teacher. During some programs, we will some
short Spanish lessons available that include some
basic language to communicate with the locals. If you
are interested in more in depth Spanish lessons, this
will be available for an extra fee.
Waterfalls (Las
Cataratas): Costa Rica is known to have some of the
most beautiful waterfalls in the world. True Nature,
found in the Diamante Valley (The Valley of the
Diamond), is in close promximity to two of the
most magnificent waterfalls in the country, The
Diamante Waterfall and Nuyaca Falls. Also, on the
True Nature grounds, we have three of our own falls.
Local Fiestas: Connecting and
celebrating with the local people in our village is
important to us. The locals are always excited about
new visitors in the village and look forward to
meeting you. During certain times of the year there
are local fiesta where you can share with the local
community, practice Spanish, and maybe even learn
some Salsa dancing!
Community Service: Giving back to
the community is important to us at True Nature.
During programs and visits you will have the
opportunity to give back to the local community in
the form of a service project. Also, learn about The
CREER Service Organization (creerbelieve.org), a non-profit based at True Nature,
whose mission is to help provide a bridge of
energetic support from the US to Costa Rica. For more

Land Stewardship: While at True
Nature you will have the opportunity to learn and
work with are land manager's Felipe and Allison and
our local cartakers Ricardo and Pablo. Felipe and
Allison will teach you in a unique and creative way,
learning about the land at True Nature, the native
species, and different ways to use on-site resources.
If you are interested in working more with the land
you can have the opportunity to work on a project of
your interest with Felipe or Allison during your time
at True Nature.
Plant Walk:
Walk the True Nature land and learn about the many
species of plants and trees on the land. Costa Rica
is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world,
take advantage of this opportuntity to broaden your
knowledge of the biodiversity.
Ceremony and Ritual: At True Nature
we have witnessed and learned the power of ceremony
and tradition. Traditions from Costa Rica and other
cultures have been brought to us and we are excited
to share them during our retreats. During special
evenings we gather together, sitting in a sacred
circle, and share in ceremonies that bring our
community closer together, and ourselves closer to
spirit and the ancestors that have walked the land
before us.
Casa Piedra (The Stone House/Cave):
An organization called The Art of Union has
transformed a cave high up the mountains into a lodge
with full services. Together you will have the
opportunity to hike up the mountain to one of the
power spots in our area.
Day of Silence: A tradition at True
Nature is that the community holds silence from
Friday Sunset to Saturday Sunset. This is an
opportunity to share in reflection and create a
peaceful sanctuary one day a week on the land. Some,
decide to leave the land on this day, and some stay.
This is a very special practice and will be available
if you wish to explore the power of silence.
Visit
to Local Farmers Market:
In San Isidro they have one of the largest farmers
markets in the country. Come experience some
authentic Costa Rican culture, in this beautiful
market. Have the opportunity to sample exotic fruits
and vegetables from all over the country while
practicing your Spanish.
